Dear Financial Supporters of the Indianapolis Liberation Center:
While the summer season is coming to a close, the struggle is as hot as ever. Despite the ups and downs in the mass movement, thanks to your ongoing support we’ve not only remained a stable hub uniting different struggles and organizations but have taken on new and bold initiatives. In a few short days, we plan to make a major announcement that marks a new milestone in advancing the interests of the working, oppressed, marginalized, and dispossessed in Indianapolis and beyond.
Your donations in action
Since our June 26 update, we’ve organized, initiated, and hosted over 60 political, cultural, educational, spiritual, and other community events and actions. Over the last quarter, our member-groups and volunteers, often in partnership with other community groups, have:
- Continued the fight against ICE and in defense of immigrant workers, organizing protests at Camp Atterbury, community potlucks, letter-writing events, and others
- Produced the 2nd Annual Levitt VIBE Indianapolis Music Series, offering free music and activities one Sunday each month
- Fought against U.S. imperialism through art, solidarity protests, community gatherings, and an organized delegation to the 2nd People’s Conference for Palestine in Detroit
- Launched a new podcast, “Naptown People’s Radio,” covering issues facing Indy from the perspective of the people on a weekly basis
- Organized struggles against the criminalization of youth and their parents/guardians and Google’s data center
- Announced the release Manifestations of Thought: When the Dragon Comes, a collection of essays by New Afrikan Political Prisoner Shaka A. Shakur published by 1804 Books.

Thanks to our volunteers and community at large, we took on dozens of projects while sustaining regular activities and public hours, providing opportunities for our people to visit, collaborate, shop, study, work, and organize. Our regular programming at the Center includes:
- Free Mindfulness Meetups from Circle City Sangha every Saturday at 9:30 am
- Arte Mexicano en Indiana’s Third Thursday art openings at the Fonseca-Du Bois gallery, which this summer included the 2nd annual “Frida by colors” exhibit
- Liberation Forums organized by PSL Indianapolis on the last Wednesday of each month, focusing on timely topics and featuring guest speakers like Haki Kweli Shakur
- Hope Packages assemblies on the third Saturday of each month that serve and struggle for our people
- ANSWER Indiana‘s monthly statewide webinars and local meetings.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. We let our actions do the speaking, but it’s clear we are in this for the long haul while also ready to battle on any front to defend our city’s working and oppressed people at the drop of a dime. We are here to unite and fight, and we need your help to keep the movement growing. Every sustainer, donation, and purchase from our in-person and online store gets us one step closer to realizing our vision: A city and world free from imperialism, white supremacy, and the divisive and dehumanizing systems of oppression they uphold, and where structures of mutual respect, care, cooperation, and justice bind us together.
In solidarity and with love,
Indianapolis Liberation Center Volunteer Staff
