If the people’s action on the corner of 25th and Sherman Dr. on October 13 demonstrated two thing, it is that our people know this battle is only just beginning and that we have no choice but to continue uniting as many forces as possible to ensure that we—the exploited, oppressed, and marginalized—determine the future of our city, not the real-estate developers, banks, multi- and trillion-dollar corporations and, with few exceptions, their bought-and-paid-for politicians.

Despite our recent remarkable victory where we united to defeat one of the largest corporations on the planet, we know the struggle is just beginning. As we rightfully celebrate the hard work and sacrifice that so many everyday working-class people and organizations that secured that victory, we can’t stop there. Instead, we have to harness that inspiration and energy as ingredients for intensifying our strong people-centered movement to assert our right to the city.

This news round-up on the October 13 action includes news video and article coverage from a wide selection of local news outlets. Stay tuned for the next action and don’t back down: No data center here! Power for people, not for profits! Our city, our say!
