Grab your seat at the table: Food justice discussion and meal

Saturday, October 5
3:00 – 7:00 pm
Purpose Park
58 N. Holmes Ave.

Together with Purpose Park and Community Garden, the Community Food Access Coalition (CFAC) is inviting all to their food justice fall gathering. Join us for an evening of food, fun, and serious discussion on the improvements we can make to the food system here in Indianapolis.

The afternoon will begin with a meal to celebrate our coming together and the beginning of the harvest season. After the meal, we will collaborate on several activities, including constructing two new community food boxes, performing planting demonstrations, making tie-dyed CFAC t-shirts, and more! During these activities, several community groups will also be present to provide information on anything ranging from native plants to mutual aid.

As the event comes to a close, we will engage in a community conversation about food justice and food access here in Indianapolis. CFAC, which was finally formed in May of this year after several years of delays, is dedicated to fighting food apartheid and food injustice throughout the city. A critical component of this is that organizations like CFAC remain available and accountable to the people they are fighting for and with. So come ready to share your ideas and feedback!
