Assemble Hope Packages and celebrate our four-year anniversary!

Saturday, January 18
1:00 – 3:00 pm
Indianapolis Liberation Center

Four years ago this month, Indy Hope Packages held our first collection and assembly. Born out of the struggle to defeat anti-homeless city ordinance Prop 291 and on the heels of the historic 2020 uprisings, it was initially a joint-project of Indy10 Black Lives Matter and PSL Indianapolis. As we have grown in volunteers and capacity, delivered thousands of packages to our neighbors across the city, and built real solidarity, we are now an independent organization sponsored by the Liberation Center. With your continued support, we will expand more!

This month, in addition to our regular package assembly, we’re hosting a fundraiser and celebration to mark this four-year anniversary. We will hold a raffle auction of two poster prints by Iskra Books’ Art for Peace, Land, and Bread poster collection. This event will also feature a discussion of Hope Packages’ 10 Point Program and our goals for 2025 and beyond. All are welcome to attend!

You can always donate to Hope Packages, and, if possible, become a monthly Sustainer at whatever price you can afford. The more Sustainers we have, the more reliably we can organize and distribute our packages!

We need of drawstring bags, protein bars, toothpaste, travel shampoo, conditioner, and lotion and deodorant. You can also purchase items directly from our Amazon wish list that will be sent to the Indianapolis Liberation Center.

When you donate to Hope Packages, you’re not only helping our homeless community members survive but also working toward a larger overarching project of transforming our city. A transformation where instead of giving hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to real estate developers and banks, we use that money to actually solve the structures and systems that cause homelessness. If you have questions or want to get more involved, reach out to us in person at the center or email info@indyhopepackages.org.
