Support Hope Packages as we continue to grow!

This month, we are returning to the Garfield Park again! We will distribute food, toiletries, and clothing on a first-come first-serve basis to anyone who needs them. Volunteers are encouraged to come and spend time with the community in addition to participating in our regular assembly. Volunteers are still encouraged to take packages with them at the end of the event to hand out in their lives. But at this location, people can come build their own packages with exactly what they need and have face-to-face conversations.

We will be walking in and around the Garfield Park area as outreach to let people know we’re in the area. This isn’t required of all volunteers, but we will need some volunteers to help with outreach.

Hope Packages is thankful for the volunteers who assemble the packages and the people without the time who participate by becoming a monthly Sustainerdonating to Hope Packages, or purchasing items directly from our Amazon wish list. The more Sustainers we have, the more reliably we can organize and distribute our packages! Our biggest donation needs for this event are food and snacks, such as protein barstuna kitsapplesauce, and sandwich crackers

When you donate to Hope Packages, you’re not only helping our homeless community members survive but also working toward a larger overarching project of transforming our city. A transformation where instead of giving hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to real estate developers and banks, we use that money to actually challenge the structures and systems that cause homelessness.

If you have questions or want to get more involved, reach out to us in person at the center or email info@indyhopepackages.org.
