The U.S. government and media are once again working overtime to attack and undermine Venezuelan democracy. As an endless stream of hypocritical propaganda about “authoritarianism” pours from State Department talking heads, it is more important than ever to deepen our understanding of the historical context of the Bolivarian Revolution.
Join ANSWER Indiana for an emergency screening of The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (2003), a documentary film that covers the 2002 coup attempt against Venezuela’s democratically elected president, Hugo Chávez. The documentary shows how popular mobilization by supporters of the Bolivarian Revolution reversed the coup and cemented Chávez’s mandate as the leader of Venezuela’s popular classes.
After the film, ANSWER will host a discussion on how the film helps us understand the current crisis in Venezuela and how we can fight back against imperialist propaganda here in the United States. Don’t miss out on this crucial educational experience.
If you would like to get involved in our anti-imperialist, anti-racist, and pro-peace organization, sign up now to join ANSWER Indiana or donate now to sustain our work.
