Spooky stories for our brave Liberated Readers

Saturday, October 12
11:00 – 12:00 pm
Indianapolis Liberation Center

As the weather gets cooler and the night gets longer, we invite our Liberated Readers and their adults to join us for a spooky storytime. The stories will involve ghostly adventures where the characters overcome their fears and work together to solve mysteries. We encourage our little brave liberated readers, ages zero to eight years old, to come in costume to celebrate the start of the Halloween season with us at the Indiana Black Librarians Network.

Our reader this month is none other than the IBLN president, Nikki Johnson. Johnson has worked in public libraries and was the former branch manager of an Indy Public Library branch. She currently works as a librarian at University Library at IU Indianapolis. Her engaging spirit and love of reading will excite the attendees as she tells tales of courage. Our liberated readers are sure to come away from the storytime with a deepened interest in reading, lifelong learning, and a thirst for adventure. The IBLN has existed for over 20 years to support Black library workers and diverse communities to access information that meet their needs and support their interests. IBLN builds our network and reach in the community by providing robust programs to its members and neighbors—programs just like this one.

We look forward to seeing you for our third Liberated Readers storytime in this series.
