Activist workshop: Placards for Jermaine Vaughn!

As we stated last month, we are not stopping in our struggle to put IMPD Sgt. Eric Huxley behind bars for the maximum time allowed for his brutal assault on our fellow neighbor, Jermaine Vaughn. ANSWER Indiana is organizing a protest for his next trial date, Tuesday August 15 at 1:00 pm outside of the Community “Justice” Center.

But organizing a protest is more than just making a post. Participate in, learn about, and join us in doing some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into organizing and building a movement.

Ever wonder how to make protest signs? What goes into their design, their wording, or their assembly process? Why we make them in the first place?

Placards are useful tools that clearly communicate what we want to say as a people, call attention to a demand, build class solidarity, and raise calls to action, among many other things.

Join ANSWER Indiana to help make and assemble placards to call attention to the ongoing Eric Huxley trial. This type of brutality among our IMPD officers is beyond unacceptable and we demand a full conviction. Let it stand as a lesson to other IMPD officers that there are consequences for the misapplication of the law and the abuse of Indianapolis residents in need of care and protection. We understand that without a conviction that the brutality won’t stop, and we demand nothing less than justice for Jermaine Vaughn and all other victims of IMPD terror!

Help us make the message loud and clear!
