From Indianapolis to Iran, the Indianapolis Liberation Center continues making gains for our people. Your continued support is essential to maintaining our city’s only liberated space where we can unite, organize, and collectively struggle against bigotry, racism, and imperialism and for a world that meets our needs.
Your donations in action
Since our March update, the Center organized and hosted 75 educational, cultural, social, and other political programs, campaigns, and actions. During this past quarter, we:
- Organized the Common Unity 2: “See Us Now” concert and press conference to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Leon Benson’s freedom and work to exonerate Vernon T. Bateman;
- Coordinated a car caravan to Dayton, Ohio to join thousands of protesters at The People’s Assembly for Peace and Justices counter-summit and rally to stop NATO;
- Pooled our resources to provide Congolese migrants with a plot of farmland at the Warman St. Community Garden, where the stewards are now hosting free urban gardening workshops;
- Held one of the largest rallies for immigrant rights in the city’s recent history; and
- Stepped up the struggle against IMPD brutality, uncovering hidden evidence in the shooting of Adam Sykes and organizing a rally that brought families of other IMPD victims together.

Thanks to ongoing community support, we were able to accomplish the above and take on new initiatives, while also maintaining our regular activities and open office-hours which provide a necessary rhythm for engaging our community. We are proud to offer the following programming at the Center on a regular and ongoing basis:
- Free Mindfulness Meetups from Circle City Sangha every Saturday at 9:30 am;
- Arte Mexicano en Indiana’s Third Thursday art openings at the Fonseca-Du Bois gallery;
- Monthly Liberation Forums featuring timely topics and lively discussion the last Wednesday of each month;
- Hope Packages assemblies on the third Saturday of each month that provide necessary resources to our homeless neighbors;
- Volunteer meetings hosted by Cultivate every other Thursday for organizers interested in reimagining food access in Indianapolis.
As our fight for liberation heats up this summer, we are ready to battle on any front to defend our city’s marginalized and oppressed. We aren’t afraid. We are here to unify, stand up, and fight back, and we need your help to keep the fight growing. Every sustainer, each donation, and every purchase from our in-person and online store gets us one step closer to a world where the people, not the billionaires, thrive. Thank you again for your financial support.
In solidarity and with love,
Indianapolis Liberation Center Volunteer Staff
