Winter Solstice celebration: Meals, a bonfire, and Hope Package assembly

Saturday, December 21
4:00 – 6:00 pm
The Purpose Park

58 N Holmes Ave.

Please donate what you can to the Indianapolis Liberation Center’s drive to fund a staff person here!

As we approach the shortest day of the year, Hope Packages has teamed up with Chrissy from Naptown Garden Co. to host a solstice celebration at Purpose Park! Join us to assemble Hope Packages, enjoy a variety of hot soups, release paper lanterns, and gather around the bonfire. Winter coats and other clothing will be available to anyone who needs them, and we will be accepting donations of non-perishable foods on behalf of the Community Food Box Project.

We are also looking for donations of warm clothing, outerwear, shoes, blankets, tents, tarps, and anything else that can shelter our homeless neighbors from the elements this winter. This event will feature a brief discussion of Hope Packages’ 10-Point Program and the ways our work can continue to strengthen and center community connections. All are welcome to attend!

You can also purchase items directly from our Amazon wish list that will be sent to the Indianapolis Liberation Center.

When you donate to Hope Packages, you’re not only helping our homeless community members survive but also working toward a larger overarching project of transforming our city. A transformation where instead of giving hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to real estate developers and banks, we use that money to actually solve the structures and systems that cause homelessness.

If you have questions or want to get more involved, reach out to us in person at the center or email info@indyhopepackages.org
