After four years, food coalition makes first recommendations to the city

When community members spontaneously formed the Community Food Access Coalition (CFAC), their purpose was clear: to take concrete steps to address food injustice in Indianapolis. In the time since its formation, coalition members have drafted bylaws, engaged in outreach, and generally laid the groundwork to ensure the coalition can be successful. Tuesday, July 15 saw CFAC recommend four members to serve on the Indianapolis Community Food Access Advisory Commission (IndyFAC), a critical task of the coalition, as defined in Ordinance 337. Watch and listen to local media’s coverage of the announcement!
