Background
The Indianapolis Public Safety and Criminal Justice Committee approved Proposal No. 182 in its meeting June 9, even as the majority of the public statements delivered by community leaders denounced the proposal. It’s significant that the Committee unanimously passed the proposal, showing the bi-partisan support for racist IMPD terror. It seems they’ve forgotten the mass uprisings last year when the people unequivocally demanded to DEFUND the IMPD! You can read more about the proposal and the history of the struggle so far here.
