My name is [your name]. I am a concerned community member calling (writing) on behalf of Lamonte Thomas in regards to case number 49D31-2603-F3-007096. I have reviewed the evidence in this case and know the state does not have the right to charge Lamonte at this time. Ryan Mears admitted as much to the press. Mears said, “At this time, no final determinations have been made regarding the culpability of any individuals involved.”

Yet Lamonte still faces charges for criminal confinement, robbery resulting in bodily injury, strangulation, and battery. And Lamonte faces trial on July 13 at 8:30 am.

The facts of the incident that occurred outside of a Wing Stop on March 7 prove that Jamar and Lamonte were the victims as Jamar was shot resulting in death. While Lamonte held the drunk shooter, Christian Bunnell, down until police arrived. Lamonte prevented others from being shot that night.

We demand the charges against Lamonte dropped immediately. We demand the Prosecutor to charge Christian Bunnell for the murder of Jamar Thomas immediately. We demand the arrest of Christian Bunnell so he can do no further harm to our community. I will be paying close attention to this case and look for the Prosecutor to make the right decision in securing justice for Jamar and Lamonte Thomas.

Sincerely,
[Your name]
