People force IDOC to give political prisoner needed medical attention

On September 28, Indianapolis Liberation shared a call to action by the Defense Committee to Free the Pendleton 2 and IDOC Watch to demand John “Balagoon” Cole, one of the Pendleton 2, to get desperately-needed medical care. He was having trouble breathing and the prison authorities unsurprisingly ignored his pleas for help.

The people clearly recognized and followed the leadership of both organizations and the Pendleton 2 to call Wabash Valley Medical and IDOC Headquarters to demand they treat him. On September 30, the Defense Committee stated on the Instagram account:

As a result of the phone zap, a nurse visited Balagoon to check on his breathing and he’s finally able to get a doctor’s appointment next week. Thank you all for keeping up the pressure this past week in support of our comrade.

Defense Committee to Free the Pendleton 2

In addition to the many people who called, the Defense Committee, and IDOC Watch, we want to thank political prisoners John “Balagoon” Cole and Christopher “Naeem” Trotter for their bold and brave organizing and action. Building with members of our class and struggle behind bars is complicated, difficult, and time-consuming work for those on either side of enemy lines.

The Indianapolis Liberation Center stands in full solidarity for their righteous struggle for freedom and calls for the immediate release of all political prisoners across the United States. We urge all of our followers, members, and supporters to engage in this crucial ongoing battle.
