Join the IU Indianapolis Arabic Studies Program and the Indiana Muslim Advocacy Network for the Indiana premiere of a new PBS documentary, American Muslims: A History Revealed. Make new discoveries about African American, South Asian American, and Arab American Muslims in the Midwest and beyond, from the Gilded Age to the Great Migration.

Event includes Q & A with one of the film’s main historical advisers.

The IU Indianapolis Arabic Studies Program offers students to explore how Arabic cultures have had a local and global impact on art, culture, food, language, politics, etc. Part of the program is to engage the broader Indianapolis community to gain an understanding of the rich history and impact of Arabic culture within the historical development of the United States. This new PBS series comes at a timely moment while tensions are on the rise in the Middle East, that learning the history of our Muslim American neighbors is tantamount to building bridges and strengthening our communities.
