As recently demonstrated by the defeat of Google in Franklin Township, the power of the people in Indianapolis is greater than the power of big tech. Now that tech start-up Metrobloks, founded only one year ago, wants to build a data center on a 13-acre lot on 25th and Sherman, we need to flex that power again. The company assures us that “not all data centers are created equal,” promising theirs will be safe, quiet, and sustainable, but Martindale Brightwood residents know the truth: Data centers bring noise, pollution, and snatch resources from our already crumbling infrastructure.
Metrobloks has not built a single one of the five data centers listed on their website. The project would bring very few jobs, and the $10 million promised in property taxes equals 0.6% of the 2026 City-County budget. The people say no! Stand with us for a community conversation about what we want our neighborhood and city to look like.
