Indianapolis Library Workers for Justice and the Indianapolis Liberation Center are hosting a public forum to share their stories and update the press and the public about their fight for racial and social justice in the workplace.
“This forum is just another step in the struggle,” Stephen Lane of Library Workers for Justice said about the forum. “This is a critical moment and we are going to take full advantage of it to create real change, to get rid of the current corrupt and racist leadership and put more community and worker oversight over the library.”
The movement’s demands are: The resignations of IndyPL Board President Judge Jose Salinas and IndyPL CEO Jackie Nytes; Increased community oversight and control over the public library; and the immediate investigation and study of staff morale and working conditions within this calendar year.
