The community is invited to a special screening and panel discussion on Justice4Three featuring the film’s director, Denise Blane.

The documentary exposes another instance of the racist machinery that is the Indiana legal system at work while detailing the relentless struggle to defeat it.

On February 17, 2021, Anderson Retic Chinn, Joshua Cooper, and Jaylin Rice—three young Black men in Fort Wayne, Indiana—were targeted in a brutal racist attack outside a gas station after their first day at a new job. The assailant, Joseph Bossard, returned with murderous intent, executing Chinn and Cooper as they tried to flee. Rice narrowly escaped with his life. Despite Bossard’s eventual 190-year sentence, his legal team’s maneuvers and other demonstrated crucial factors that continue denying Black people justice.

Justice4Three, directed by Denise Blane (Chinn’s cousin), chronicles this struggle through testimonies, re-enactments, and the voices of those on the frontlines. The film exposes how the state perpetuates violence against Black communities while shielding white supremacy, amplifying the voices of Anderson’s family and Fort Wayne community members.

After that, we’re excited to host a panel that includes director Blane, Anderson Retic Chinn’s family, legal experts, and revolutionary organizers.

Justice4Three, which won the HooDox PitchDox award, is more than a film: it is a call to action.

Justice will not be served by the state—it will be won by the people.
