Unconditional solidarity: Africa-Korea discussion

A recent episode of “Saturdays with Renee” delves into the historical roots that explain the links between the struggles of African and Korean peoples against U.S. imperialism. Musa Springer and Jamie Tyberg join co-hosts Jared Ball and Renee Thompson to provide a brief overview of the colonization of the Korean peninsula, the Korean people’s ongoing fight for national liberation and reunification, Nodutdol’s “U.S. out of Korea!” campaign, the unique struggles of Koreans in Japan, how current delegations to oppressed nations and people abroad continue a long and important tradition of building genuine solidarity, and more.

One of the pieces sparking the conversation is Springer’s article, “Groundings with Koreans in the Belly of Another Beast,” published in Hood Communist after they participated in the 2nd Annual U.S. Peace Delegation to Chongryon (The General Association of Koreans in Japan).
