Kofi Modibo Ajabu has a clemency hearing scheduled for November 05. Until then, we encourage all of our supporters and members to be in full swing by showing how strong our support is for this innocent man. Phone number and script below.

While still a college student, Kofi Ajabu was sentenced to 240 years in prison for his alleged involvement in a 1994 attempted robbery gone wrong in which three young people were stabbed to death. The deaths of Christopher James, Nicholas Allemenos, and Lisa Allemenos were tragic. Kofi Ajabu, however, did not take part in their murders.

Kofi Ajabu has been incarcerated for over half of his life. Kofi and his friends, family, and wider community maintain his innocence to this day. As it turns out, the Jury Foreman in Kofi’s trial, Orvan Mabie, has been among those maintaining Kofi’s innocence, telling news outlets that he “never believed Kofi killed anybody.” He told FM 93.1 WIBC‘s Kurt Darling in December 2024 that his participation in the guilty please has “haunted him ever since.”

After languishing in Indiana’s notoriously inhumane prisons for decades, the Jury Foreman in Ajabu’s case, Orvan Mabie, sent a letter to Ajabu. In that letter, received in May 2024, Mabie suggested Ajabu pursue clemency. “I know your file shows you are not eligible for parole,” he wrote, “but I do wonder if you might be considered for clemency.”

Mabie said he was a guilty verdict “because of the way the Indiana law was written,” but that he “never believed Kofi killed anyone.”

Since then, Mabie has rededicated his life to freeing the innocent man he helped put behind bars.
