On Wednesday, January 7th, a masked ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good as she bravely stood witness to the ICE Raid in the streets of Minneapolis. Though ICE is claiming self-defense, video evidence confirms this to be a lie. This is murder was not only cold-blooded, but a direct violation of her first amendment right to bear witness. Indianapolis stands with Minneapolis in their demands that the ICE agent who shot her be prosecuted immediately for murder, alongside any of their accomplices.
Indianapolis has stood united against ICE since the very beginning of Trump’s racist crusade, considering Governor Mike Braun was one of the first to capitulate to Trump’s orders. Hoosiers have seen time and again that the Trump administration will criminalize people exercising their free speech rights. But the people will not be intimidated and will continue to raise their voices until justice is won for Renee Nicole Good and ICE’s mass deportations end once and for all. Hoosiers have not and will not stand for ICE violence here at home, and we stand with the people of Minneapolis!
