The struggle to right the wrongs of the IndyPL Board of Trustees, who continue to refuse to appoint Nichelle Hayes as CEO, continues this Monday at the next public Board meeting. The meeting will take place exactly one week after over 100 people rallied in support of Hayes at the Indianapolis Central Library. Those in attendance represented only a fraction of the people who have publicly showed their support for Hayes in an online petition.
At that protest, which was initiated by the Indianapolis Liberation Center and AFSCME Local 3395 Union Leadership and endorsed by several organizations including Arte Mexicano en Indiana, Indy10 BLM, PSL Indy, and Hope Packages, community leaders announced that they will present the petition to the IndyPL Board at their next meeting during the public comment period. It’s imperative that we bring as many people as possible to let them know that we won’t stop the fight and that they will be held accountable for their decision!
