Join IDOC Watch for the first in a new speaking series featuring THEKINGTRILL (aka Jok), who spent almost 20 years in and out of prison before finding his way to IDOC Watch. Now, he is an active member of that organization as well as the Pendleton2 Defense Committee and FOCUS Initiatives Abolitionist Re-Entry Program.
The inaugural event focuses on the reasons we need abolition and the telegraph theory. It is open to all community members and there is no prior knowledge or even engagement with the prison movement necessary to attend another community discussion. To get a sense of Jok’s practical and theoretical knowledge, as well as his engaging speaking style, check out this series of videos he produced on the real function of jails here.
