On Oct. 27, Shaka was sent to isolated confinement in retaliation for exercising his rights and following VADOC protocols. This was based on a false charge of “Refusing to Obey a Direct Order.” Neither the report nor the cameras show Shaka receiving a direct order. Instead, they indicate Shaka was merely “instructed” to take an action.
This is clearly a political attack meant to disrupt and distract Shaka from organizing but we won’t let that happen! We are demanding:
- Remove Shaka from Isolation & Segregation
- Return His Rollator & Other Medical Supplies/Medicines
- Stop Retaliation & Protect Shaka’s Civil Liberties
- Investigate Complaints Filed Against/Conduct by Ronnie/Ricky Keiter, Sgt. Taylor, C.O. York, & Nurse Shepard for Harassment, PREA Violations, & More.

Hello, my name is [ ] and I’m calling to express my concern about the false charges against, ongoing harassment, and recent isolation of Shaka Shakur #1996207 at Lunenburg Correctional Center.
Over the last several months, Shaka has filed numerous complaints about sexual harassment, the withholding of legal materials, and other matters by prison guards and staff.
Please investigate each grievance filed by Shaka and immediately drop the bogus charges and remove him from isolation/segregation. Thank you for your time.
