Continue building the movement for immigration justice in this community conversation on the racist, anti-immigration executive orders coming from Trump and Braun. As the rest of the world grows stronger in spite of U.S. repression, this new administration represents a desperate grasp for a ruling-class counter attack. In an attempt to deflect blame for their deeply unpopular agenda—which includes dismantling public education, defunding essential benefits like Medicaid, and more—they have orchestrated a scare-campaign against immigrants. But attempts by billionaires to paint targets on the backs of immigrants will ultimately fail, as we recognize that the billionaires themselves are our common enemy. This shared knowledge is what allows us to erase the racism the billionaires hope to stoke.
Defeating this attack will take more than just recognizing our common interests—it requires the development of a strategy to defend ourselves and ultimately to create a system that prioritizes the interests of the majority over the tiny minority of billionaires. This town hall is a step in developing this strategy. To help frame our conversation, members of the Party for Socialism will provide a report back from organizations embedded in the immigrant rights struggle in Indiana. We will then discuss how all can stay involved in the fight for immigrant liberation from billionaire tyranny.
We must be ready to mobilize with our neighbors, coworkers, students, and family. We stand united!
