Camp Atterbury, a training site used by the Army Reserve and Indiana National Guard, is now expected to detain immigrants under Braun’s new “partnership agreements”. Camp Atterbury is being co-opted by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and Indiana Immigration and Customs Enforcement to meet the needs of the Trump Administration’s racist anti-immigrant agenda. Leaked footage and reports by human rights watchdog organizations have already sounded the alarm on the conditions of detainees, such as being subjected to overcrowding and medical neglect in these detention centers. Now, Camp Atterbury is hosting a T-REX (Technology Readiness Experimentation) exercise where they are testing a number of weapons and drones in what can only be explained as a “war games” demonstration.
Just before they fully convert Camp Atterbury into a concentration camp, the Indiana National Guard and Army Reserve are using the space to experiment with new weapons that they will use against the people. It’s time to say NO to the new detention center and end the racist war on immigrants! Unite with us on Friday, August 15, to disrupt their war games and demand an end to their attacks on immigrants.
