Support the anti-war and anti-racist movement in Indiana!

This year’s celebration and commemoration of Black August is marred by the collaboration of Indiana officials in the racist campaign of mass deportation spearheaded by the Trump administration. From the plan to turn Camp Atterbury into a concentration camp for ICE detainees to the crassly-named “Speedway Slammer,” the Hoosier state is poised to become a regional hub for the detainment and deportation of thousands of people.

As Che Guevara famously pointed out, those of us in the U.S. live in “the belly of the beast,” and our fight is critical not just to our communities, but worldwide. The repression and cruelty working people face domestically are repeated tenfold around the world. A current example is the engineered starvation of Gaza, which is an intentional instrument of genocide, wielded by Israel with the full backing of the U.S. ruling class. The destruction of civil infrastructure in Palestine—hospitals, homes, schools, mosques, water desalination plants, sewage treatment, trash removal—echoes the destruction of Korea by U.S. forces during the Korean War. U.S. firebombing killed 25% of the population in the north and destroyed up to 85% of the nation’s infrastructure.

It is the imperative of those who live within the core of the empire to understand and illuminate the connections between local and international struggles. Fill out the form below to register for ANSWER Indiana’s August webinar for a deep dive into the history of mass incarceration and an analysis of ICE as an outgrowth of this white supremacist system, a discussion on the parallels between Korea and Palestine, and an invitation to join the fight here at home. We will email you a link to the webinar 24 hours ahead of time.
