The U.S. and Israel’s unpopular war against Iran has upended the global economy, and the U.S. working class is paying the price at every turn: at the gas pump, the grocery store, our tax dollars, and more. Every day the U.S. continues its illegal and illegitimate act of aggression, more and more people oppose it. An April 21 Economist/YouGov poll found 58 percent of people in the U.S. “somewhat or strongly” oppose the war. According to the same poll, a staggering 70 percent of people want to end the war as fast as possible. Meanwhile, neither political party nor individual politicians have made any genuine moves to respond to their constituents. Despite numerous ongoing anti-war protests, Indiana’s Gov. Mike Braun is pursuing a $60 million partnership with Israel. The reality is that there are two parties but they both serve the same system: imperialism.
Regardless of what politician or political party has the reigns of the U.S. government, the rich get richer and the rest of us get poorer. There is only one alternative: socialism. Despite over a century of anti-communist propaganda, a 2025 Cato Institute/YouGov poll found over 60 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 29 hold a “favorable view” of socialism, while 34 percent hold a “favorable view” of communism.

Socialism is not only necessary; it is absolutely possible. Each time a major rebellion sweeps the U.S. we see that the masses of people have the willingness and courage to take to the streets and make the world a better place. The Party for Socialism and Liberation exists to move from rebellion to revolution. We know that revolutions do not happen on their own and that we have to build a force capable of leading the working and oppressed to power before the next revolutionary opportunity arises.
