Donnell Franklyn is returning to his childhood hometown of Lake County for a special premiere of his new film, The Will to Win.
While his passion for creative work and graphic design started in high school, it wasn’t until he was out of college that he started his own clothing line, ybOrdinary Clothing, which has an expansive catalogue including caps, hoodies, backpacks, dresses, and more.
The film debuted in his current hometown of Dallas, Texas, earlier this year.
But Franklyn wanted to show the movie and bring some of the cast and crew along to Merriville, a town that doesn’t have a movie theater.
The Will to Win tells a powerful story of two athletes who, following the end of their professional careers, try maintaining their luxurious lifestyles. “Their unwavering determination and will to win lead them down a path that could alter the course of their lives forever,” the film’s description reads.
The two individuals are fictional, but many, if not most, of us can see some of ourselves in them. The Will to Win teaches us that our hopes are never really crushed and our dreams never end; they only change and evolve. Whether or not we choose to adapt is what matters.
