Before he presents his 2025 budget to the City-County Council, the community is coming together to hold Mayor Joe Hogsett and his administration accountable for the abhorrent sexist and abusive acts they facilitated and endorsed for the entirety of Hogsett’s tenure in office. The Hogsett administration has disrespected us long enough, and his recent slander against one of the victims—coupled with an outright refusal to produce any evidence to back it up—is the last straw.

In addition to City-County Councilor Jesse Brown (the only Councilor to immediately denounce Hogsett and call for his resignation), various community leaders and organizers are slated to speak about the impact of Hogsett and the upper echelon’s of his administration to justify their calls for his immediate resignation.

As early as 2017, Hogsett was aware of allegations made against Thomas Cook and chose to retain him in the Mayor’s administration until 2020, when Cook resigned. Even then, Hogsett continued to work with Cook for the Mayor’s reelection campaign until last year. Since the allegations have been made public, Hogsett has repeatedly contested the truthfulness of the victims and has admitted to “running” from the issue. He can run, but he can’t hide.
