The path to Black liberation: Uniting for a Third Reconstruction

Indianapolis Liberation Center

For revolutionaries, Black History Month is about the history we live and make. At this month’s PSL Indianapolis Liberation Forum, we’ll examine the heroic, centuries-long Black liberation movement to help us take the next step toward winning true liberation for all. Because Black liberation requires defeating imperialism, we’ll analyze the Black freedom movement from a global perspective and from our current historical moment.

This moment is both inspiring and dangerous. The massive spontaneous uprisings against Trump’s far-right agenda and rhetoric prove our class is far from scared; we are ready to fight. Studying the Black movement is necessary for organizers and activists to identify what we’re fighting against, what we’re fighting for, and the most effective ways to advance our interests. We’ll explore key moments and phases of the Black liberation struggle to arm ourselves with the knowledge needed for the battles ahead. In particular, we’ll discuss:

  • How the state uses both violent repression and accommodation to quell the Black revolutionary movement
  • Multinational unity and the fight for Black liberation and socialism
  • The key features of fascism and how to defeat it
  • Internationalism and the relationship between anti-Black racism and anti-communism

As always, hear first-hand updates about local struggles and find out how to plug in and build the movement for the society we deserve!

If you’re ready to start struggling with us, apply to join the PSL or learn more about the Indianapolis branch. In any case, we want your participation and will help find you a place in the movement!
