The moment people in Indianapolis got word the U.S. war machine was once again targeting the independent and sovereign nation of Iran, the Indianapolis Liberation Center was buzzing with activity. It didn’t matter that we were also preparing for a class on Marx’s Capital; it was all hands-on deck. On February 28, within a matter of hours and under the leadership of ANSWER Indiana, the people organized and carried out an emergency mobilization to demand an end to the war at Military Park, part of a coordinated nationwide day of action that included hundreds of cities and towns.

“Operation Epic Fury” resulted in the deaths of thousands of people and the unarguably illegal assassination of Ali Hosseini Khamenei, Iran’s second Supreme Leader. Yet despite Trump’s proclamations, it was not a “one and done” event. On March 2, an even larger crowd assembled on Monument Circle. That weekend, despite the rainy and cold weather dozens remained steadfast in demanding: “U.S.: Hands off Iran!”

Below is a round-up of some of the press coverage of the actions. To get involved in the anti-war movement, fill out the form at ANSWERIndiana.org!
