Join the Indianapolis branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation for an afternoon of discussions about the origins and aims of right-wing attacks on transgender student athletes in public schools and universities.
While HB 1041, an example of this trend, has moved through the Indiana General Assembly, it has been met with stiff resistance by community members, educators, medical professionals, and trans people of all ages. The emphasis placed on “biological male advantage” by proponents of the bill attempts to weaponize a discredited view of science that disguises the ideological basis of their goals.
“Protecting girls” has never been a priority for them, until it’s time to attack transgender girls, if they acknowledge them at all. It’s time for us to stand up and fight back against this legislation and support trans youth who wish to play sports here in Indiana!
