Our Liberated Readers storytime is all about bringing our community together. In November, we explore outer space. We use our imaginations through story to experience leaving the Earth to explore the furthest reaches of our solar system and maybe even leave our galaxy to see what distant planets may look like. Our presenter this month is long time member and past president of Indiana Black Librarians Network, Mahasin Ameen.
Outer Space is hard to imagine, yet through story, we are able to do anything! Developing our creative imagination can help us solve problems by applying creative solutions to everyday issues. Here at IBLN, we want to help kids up to 8-years-old, develop their creative capacities through the love of reading.
The IBLN has existed for over 20 years to provide critical support to Black library workers and our communities. We work tirelessly to advocate for diverse libraries that reflect the communities we serve. Join us every second Saturday for our Liberated Readers storytime.
