Although it has been over 50 years since his martyrdom, Ghassan Kanafani remains a towering figure in Palestinian literature, political thought, and revolutionary struggle.
His book, The Revolution of 1936-39 in Palestine, offers key insights into a crucial and understudied moment in Palestinian and global history and also holds lessons and provides tools for organizers fighting for peace and justice today.
Kanafani’s methodology, which involves a sharp analysis of society by dissecting the interests, strengths, and weaknesses of different class forces, not only helps us understand the present-day reality of Palestine but also equips our movement with the tools to exert pressure in support of the anti-imperialist struggle.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase at our first meeting and through the Indianapolis Liberation Center store. No prior reading or preparation is necessary!
If you want to learn more about the book before our first meeting, you can watch the book launch event from last year and hear from the translator and editor of the new edition.
