“After reading Teaching to Transgress I am once again struck by bell hooks’s never-ending, unquiet intellectual energy, an energy that makes her radical and loving.” – Paulo Freire
Come out to the Indy Liberation Store for the next entry in our ongoing series, “Reading with comrades” Facilitated by Center volunteers Brooks Behr and Imani Luellen, we’ll collectively study bell hooks’ book, Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom.
Full of passion and politics, the book is a work of praxis, combining deep but accessible theoretical knowledge with the fleshy experience of classrooms of all types.
We are excited to engage in discussion with you and challenge the current systems of education while re-imagining a new one that is equitable and liberatory. Bring your copy or purchase your own from our store.
