“Articulated Consciousness,” a Black August poetry workshop will be led by artist and poet, Imani Lehte. We will be reading excerpts from Angela Davis’ Women, Race, and Class, writing our own poems about liberation, and collectively discussing the ways in which we can put Angela’s words into conscious action.
This workshop is free and open to the public! We are excited to see you next Wednesday at 6pm!
About the facilitator
Imani Lehtè is a queer, lesbian, nonbinary poet and artist. Their artistry is rooted in love for community, a desire for deep connections, nature spaces, and pondering how expression and relationship to self allow them to navigate the world. Their life’s art is to be a living, open, and honest example of what it means to build community through praxis and to make peace, love, and war against and within a system that is made to harm us at our core and divulge hope.
