Nationwide book launch and community Seder

Saturday, April 12
5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Indianapolis Liberation Center

$10–$50 donation per guest

All are welcome to join us for a community Passover Seder and the nationwide book launch of the first-ever English translation of Haggadah for Believers and Heretics, recently published by Iskra Books, to ring in the spring and the eventual liberation of all oppressed people. This Seder utilizes this a political reimagining of the Passover ritual meant to raise revolutionary consciousness by focusing on class struggle and the fight against reactionary movements. First published in the Soviet Union in 1927, Liberation Center volunteer and PSL Indianapolis member Noah Leininger translated the book at a time when revolutionary Jewish anti-Zionism is absolutely necessary.

We are proud to partner with Iskra Books to make the book launch available to all via livestream (registration information forthcoming).

The book’s version of the Passover tale is anti-capitalist and emphatically denounces Zionism, the political movement to establish an exclusively Jewish state has its roots in the late 1800s. The readings and lessons shared in Haggadah for Believers and Heretics draws clear connections with the ongoing, U.S.-sponsored genocide of Palestinians, Trump’s support to ethnically cleanse Gaza, and the unchecked actions of the apartheid state of Israel by so-called human rights organizations.

Books will be available for purchase during the event.

Schedule:

  • 5:30: Nationwide Book Launch
  • 7:00 pm: Seder begins

All those attending the Seder are required to RSVP. We ask guests bring a covered dish for dinner following the Seder. You may also contribute wine or other non-alcoholic beverages. Please indicate if you will be attending and what you will be bringing via this RSVP form.

The Indianapolis Liberation Center thrives only on donations from members, volunteers, supporters, and our community. A suggested donation of $10-$50 per guest will help your city’s independent liberated organizing center organize more events like this. Donate here.
