Saturday: Car protest at the Indiana Women’s Prison

People incarcerated in Indiana’s prisons are at high risk for COVID-19, and cases continue to rise with one reported death. Holcomb: Release Them Now!

Meet at 2pm EST in Ben Davis Park (Girls School Rd entrance, gravel lot in front of Adventure Fun Park) to rally and listen to recordings from people on the inside describing conditions in the prisons. Then at 3pm we will march and drive past Indiana Women’s Prison, honking and displaying signs in solidarity with those inside.

DEMANDS:

GOV. HOLCOMB/IN SUPREME COURT/IDOC:

  • Release of everyone with less than a year left on their sentence, everyone held on technical parole violations, and everyone whose age or medical conditions put them at high risk for COVID-19
  • Housing in hotels for those released, using stimulus funds designated for law enforcement
  • Free medical care and access to masks and cleaning supplies for everyone who remains incarcerated
  • Free video visits and communication throughout the duration of the pandemic

MARION COUNTY JUDGES AND SHERIFF:

  • Release of everyone held on parole violations, everyone held on cash bail, and everyone whose age or medical conditions put them at high risk for COVID-19
  • Housing in hotels for those released
  • Stop honoring ICE holds
  • Free medical care and access to masks and cleaning supplies
  • Free video visits and communication throughout the duration of the pandemic
