Join the PSL for the last of our regular meetings to study our new book, Socialist Reconstruction: A Better Future for the United States. We’ll discuss chapters 9-10, both of which deal with the violence enacted on the working and oppressed by capitalism at home and around the world and, just as importantly, how a socialist government could eliminate mass incarceration, police terror, and imperialist wars to provide real public safety and build real solidarity around the world.
Learn, listen, and share your thoughts about the root cause of this overwhelming violence and how we can create a new state, legal system, and practices of public participation to construct a peaceful society and world.
Every successful socialist project must have a positive vision for the future of society. It is not enough to simply criticize capitalism; we must plan diligently for its overthrow and replacement with a system that meets the fundamental needs of people and the planet.
With the future of the world in grave danger due to imperialist war, climate change, nuclear proliferation and more, there has never been a more pressing need to chart a socialist path forward and organize for a better society.
If you haven’t been able to make it to the past few meetings, don’t worry! It’s never too late to join in on the conversation.
See you there!
