Frantz Fanon’s The wretched of the Earth appeared in French in 1961, shortly before its author died while seeking treatment for leukemia in Maryland. The English translation was published two years later, and it has remained part of any revolutionary’s canon since that time.
Like so many revolutionary works that have come to represent an entire tradition, the book is cited and referenced more often than it is read. Yet when read carefully and with comrades, taking as much time as we need to really digest it, to put it in its time and context while we think about what lessons it holds for us today, we find it’s an infinite reserve of revolutionary optimism and strategy.
That’s why the Indy Liberation Store is excited to closely and collectively read this work over the course of six weeks. As always, pre-reading is encouraged but not at all required. If you need a copy (or want a fresh copy), stop by the Indy Liberation Store or order one at our website here!
