Today, it can feel increasingly difficult to avoid the weight of the world around us. From rising grocery costs to ongoing wars and global crises, many people are carrying a growing sense of anxiety, grief, anger, and overwhelm. Balancing our own needs, responsibilities, and well-being can feel especially challenging when we are also witnessing suffering and injustice on such a large scale.
“In community, we learn how to glimpse new possibilities that otherwise never would have become apparent to us, and in the process we expand and enlarge our very notion of freedom.” – Angela Davis, The Meaning of Freedom
With that spirit in mind, experienced social workers and organizers at the center, are creating a support group for people who are feeling isolated, discouraged, or overwhelmed by the current state of the world and who are seeking connection with others navigating similar experiences. This group will offer a space for healing, reflection, mutual support, and collective care as we process the emotional impact of injustice and oppression brought on by the United States government.
This will be a weekly 4-session group starting July 12. If this resonates with you or someone you know, we invite you to complete the intake form. Space is limited, but our goal is to build a supportive community where we can share experiences, learn from one another, and explore what meaningful change can look like for ourselves, our communities, and our neighbors.
Together, we hope to create a space where healing, connection, and solidarity can grow.
