Welcome, all friends of Palestine to our third “Gather for Gaza” event with food, fellowship, and fundraising.
This year all proceeds will go to our friends Ibrahim Abu-Saqer—who now lives in Dublin as a refugee—and Elham—who is still in Gaza with her 12 and nine-year-old children. Elham is now a widow, a 40-year-old single mother of one boy and one girl after the Israeli forces killed her husband. The same day they killed her husband, Elham injured her foot severely. Now, she and her children live in a small tent along with insects and scorpions.
Ibrahim was previously attending university in Gaza as a student of dentistry at Al-Azhar University. His motivation was, and is, to serve his community by providing healthcare. However, his ability to pursue that goal was severed by the Isreali bombardment of Gaza in 2023. Today, Ibrahim is living in Ireland as a full-time student, working to rebuild his life while carrying an immense responsibility: supporting himself and providing for his parents and sister who remain trapped in Gaza under ongoing siege.
At this event, we’ll learn about their campaigns as we create, mourn, laugh, and forge links of solidarity.
Thank you to the Indy Liberation Center for allowing us the free use of their space. We encourage you to use the following links to donate whatever you can and show your solidarity with the Palestinian people and liberated spaces people work to maintain so we can organize events like this:
Love,
Lindsay and Sarah
