Hope Packages community drive: Help us help the people!

 144 total views

Over the last two years, we’ve distributed thousands of Hope Packages throughout Indianapolis. To continue and expand our work, we need your support! Donate to our fundraising drive here!

Hope Packages has been providing necessary aid to people struggling in our communities for over 2 years. Indy10 Black Lives Matter and the Indianapolis branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation launched this project in January of 2021 because it was clear to us that the government wasn’t going to do anything about these issues. It was and is up to us.

For two years, we’ve consistently provided needed goods – from coats and clothes to water, food, and bus passes – to poor and working people, distributing thousands of packages. Yet Hope Packages is not a charity. We are a political organization that seeks to eliminate the injustices and exploitation that characterize our society. To that end, Hope Packages has led several successful struggles against anti-homeless and anti-worker ordinances, like Prop. 256 and Prop. 291, proposed by both Republicans and Democrats on the City-County Council.

Hope Packages is entirely made up of volunteers and donations. We assemble and distribute the packages, but our work is entirely funded by monetary and material donations from our community. We cannot do this without your help! As inflation devastates our communities and bitter cold sets in, it’s more important than ever to contribute to keep our neighbors as warm and well nourished as possible.

Please donate and share this community drive & fundraiser starting in the new year from January 2nd to February 2nd  – it’s the only way we can continue our work. Proposition 256 and other attacks on the houseless show the urgency to keep organizing and struggling for a fairer system that ensures people have their basic necessities met. Until then, Hope Packages will be there to help fill in the gaps. Your donations make it possible for us to continue and expand our monthly material collection, assemblies, and distributions–and to step up our work. We need to grow our space and increase our outreach, and we need you to make that happen.
