Looking for something fun and worthwhile to do this summer? Apply for a summer internship with the Indianapolis Liberation Center and make every day count towards the struggle for justice and liberation.
You will learn valuable organizing skills by working alongside seasoned organizers and students to help to build the movement against police terror, war, racism, bigotry, and more.
This summer, the Liberation Center will be organizing forums, film screenings, and other events as well as conducting regular outreach and managing our “Hope Packages” project that provides needed aid to unsheltered neighbors. As an intern, you’ll play a crucial role in these processes.
Interns will be supervised by one of two coordinators at the Center throughout their time.
Interns must have passion to work with others to build the social justice movement. No formal experience is required. Experience in multicultural and diverse gender environments is helpful. Bilingual skills are helpful, but not necessary. General knowledge of computers and community organizing experience is helpful. Youth, students and applicants of all ages are welcome.
We encourage interns to commit to working with the Indianapolis Liberation Center from 8 to 25 hours a week for a 4 to 6 week minimum. Some of this time will be spent in the Center’s Office. The Liberation Center is a completely volunteer-based organization. This internship is unpaid.
There will be an educational component to the internship. All interns will be able to participate in political classes on various important topics led by experienced community organizers. Internships will run between June 01 and August 15, 2021.
The deadline for summer internship applications is May 30, 2021.
